Psycho review

Image
These are my thoughts on Alfred Hitchcock s greatest movie psycho. This movie is amazing and in my opinion with the help of Halloween it helped bring us the slasher genre we know today. Anthony Perkins was fantastic as Norman Bates. The film had an amazing twist that on first viewing you won’t see coming. The score is spectacular and very chilling the atmosphere of this movie is intense and unnerving. Alfred Hitchcock is a fantastic director he is a true visionary. This movie is amazing I could watch it anytime. It’s very smart and sophisticated in its storytelling. Overall I could t find any flaws with this film. So I’m going to give Alfred Hitchcocks Psycho a 9.5/10.

Cabin in the Woods review

Image
Starting off this review this movie is the greatest horror movies of the 2010s by far. It has everything funny comedic moments that are actually funny not forced, it has some great scares and. Some really awesome creature and monster designs. I love all the acting in this movie especially Chris Hemsworth. This was filmed before Thor came out but I was released when he was really popular. The concept of this movie is genius and really meta in a way. The ending is off the walls crazy and I loved every second of it. I’m going to give Cabin in the Woods a 9/10.

Night of the Living Dead review

Image
To start my review of the night of the living dead off I want to say that this movie is an all time classic horror movie. It’s full of suspense and horror and it help popularize the zombie genre of horror movies. This movie was directed by the genius George A. Romero. He was one of the all time greatest horror movie director and he help revolutionize the horror genre. It’s a very intense and suspenseful horror movie that feels very real at times and has a ending that will make you upset. I’m going to give Night of the Living Dead a 9/10.

The Strangers review

Image
This movie starts off with a couple who are having relationship issues. They end up going to a secluded house. They get a knock on they’re door. This movie really scares me because it seems so really. It almost reminds me of the Manson murders. This movie is a Halloween must watch for me. The masks they wear are really scary. I love the shots where you can barely see the killers in the background. The ending of this movie will have you emotional and will leave you scared and paranoid for days after. I’m going to give The Strangers a 9/10.

You’re Next review

Image
To start off this review of You’re Next that I really loved the suspense and all the kills. I feel like this is a horror comedy with some of the intentional and unintentional jokes. The animal masks are pretty intimating. The main character is really awesome and she knows how fight back against the attackers and she sets up pretty genius traps somewhat like a demented home alone. The twist In the 3rd act was pretty great and I didn’t see it comping. I think this is a very intelligent horror thriller which has some funny moments and awesome kills.  So I’m going to give You're Next a 8.5/10

The Shinning review

Image
This movie is very  complex and very deep movie and it has so many hidden details and it really makes you think. It’s disturbing and it has many terrifying scenes that will stick with you a few days after watching this movie. Jack Nicholson really shines and he is very intimidating even when he is not his crazy self.  Stanley Kubrick is a very fantastic director and I think this is his best film. It’s not just a simple horror movie it’s a horror movie that makes you really think if things are real or they are just going crazy and lost their minds. I love the setting of the Overlook Hotel which is a character in itself. It’s a huge and ever changing maze of a building. There are stairs that lead to nowhere and hallways that change positions. I really love this movie it’s one of the greatest films ever made. I give The Shinning a 9/10.

Carrie review

Image
My review on Carrie from 1976 I really enjoy this film.  This is an example of the film being better than source material. The book, written by Stephen King, is good, the film is a classic. Carrie does have some genuine scary scenes  and unsettling moments, such as the crucifixion which is horrifying  and unforgettable and the ending which still haunts me. But it also has a lot of heart, as there are some prolific scenes, especially as Sissy Spacek's performance is so spectacular. Piper Laurie is also brilliant, and it was quite nice to see John Travolta early is his career. This is an all time. Classic horror movie that has a message about bullying and radicalism that really sets this movie from a lot of horror movies. I give Carrie a 8.5/10.
